China Retail Sales of Consumer Goods Up 15.2% in May

BEIJING, Jun 18, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Total retail sales of consumer goods in China edged up 15.2% from a year ago to CNY 1.0028 trillion last month, thanks to a series of economic relief measures released by the Chinese central government and the easing credit.

Retail sales of consumer goods in cities topped CNY 684 billion, a rise of 15% from the corresponding period a year earlier. The number for county-level cities and rural areas was CNY 318.8 billion, increasing 15.6% on a year-on-year basis.
