New names for Resorts World, Asiatic Devt

RESORTS World Bhd has changed its name to Genting Malaysia Bhd from June 18 2009, to reflect the company's primary country of listing, origin and current operations.

The same applies for Asiatic Development Bhd, which is now known as Genting Plantations Bhd.
Genting Malaysia chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay said the name change is part of the Genting group's ongoing rebranding exercise.

"As the company (Genting Malaysia) is a key subsidiary of Genting Bhd, the new name also reflects the direct relationship between the two entities.
