When Zander Walters looks in the mirror and applies his eye black, it's time.
The fire in his hazel eyes ignites. A rush of adrenaline fills his body. Music pulsates through his ears. He looks at himself in the mirror. The best player in the state looks back. Time to prove it on the field.
And he did.
"A little switch flips on once I put my eye black on," said Walters. "I just get in the zone."
