HOYER: Good afternoon. I want to begin by saying that the
speaker and I just participated in a ceremony commemorating the loss of
two of our brave members of the Capitol Police in the line of duty, whom
we lost on July 24th, 1998 -- Officer J.J. Chestnut and Detective John
Gibson.
We remember them with great fondness. And they were examples of
the courage that is shown every day by the members of our Capitol Police
