THE National Athletes Charity Foundation (Yakeb) received a big boost in its goal to help former or current athletes when several companies contributed a total of RM1.8 million at a charity dinner held in Putrajaya on Saturday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is the patron of Yakeb, were the guests of honour which saw Bollywood stars Datuk Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji entertain more than 500 former and current athletes at the function.
