Skateboard retailers take a leap -- In up-and-down market, some brands betting trend will continue riding high

The skateboarding trend has had lots of 360s and 180s since the 1970s, but retailers and malls are banking on it to keep riding high.
Retailers that sell merchandise and clothing tied to skateboarding and snowboarding have become mall mainstays, with some malls, such as Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, clustering them in a wing of the mall it calls its youth district.
