United Airlines, travel agents continue debate on card costs

United Airlines' move in recent weeks to shift certain card-processing costs to some travel agents is seen by many in the industry as a foreshadowing of a broader shift that could inspire other airlines to follow suit.
Earlier this month, 11 members of the House of Representatives, led by Michael A. Arcuri, a Democrat from Utica, N.Y., wrote to United asking the carrier to delay the action so that the consequences could be examined. United agreed on Friday.
