EKRAN Bhd, a company headed by Sarawak businessman Tan Sri Ting Pek Khiing, is reviving an abandoned casino resort in Samal island in Davao del Norte in southern Philippines.

The company hopes to re-open the 1.5 billion peso (100 pesos = RM7.59) tourism complex in Samal's Kaputian District, which was closed in 2000 due to the Asian financial crisis.
