TDM Bhd, a plantation group owned by the Terengganu state government, is investing RM114 million to set up its fourth hospital and meet growing demand for healthcare on the east coast.
It will be the first on the east coast to have a unit specialising in heart diseases and will target the middle-income group.
The 150-bed hospital in Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, will open in 2012. It plans to compete through cheaper charges, as much as a quarter lower than the fee quoted by the Malaysian Medical Association.
