Kedah to get sugar from Perlis, Penang

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The crisis over sugar shortage in Kedah is expected to be resolved this week as the Malayan Sugar Manufacturer Co Sdn Bhd (MSM) has agreed to send 1,300 tonnes of sugar through its wholesalers in Penang and Perlis.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the bulk of the shipment would be made by MSM's supplier in Penang while the rest would come from the wholesaler in Perlis.
Ismail said the decision was made at a recent meeting of state directors from Kedah, Perlis and Penang.
