Same old blues for Mets -- Sheff, Pelfrey are no help for the un-Amazin's

PHOENIX The door to the managers office remained closed for nearly 45 minutes, just Jerry Manuel and Gary Sheffield inside. When Sheffield emerged he was smiling, but he still didnt have what he wanted a place in the lineup.
In a season filled with injuries to almost every player on the roster, the 40-year-old Sheffield has been healthier than most Mets, or at least able to try to force his way onto the field.
