(Indiana Daily Student) (U-WIRE) BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The University has taken one more step to curtail the social stigma people with handicaps encounter in their everyday lives.

The only problem is, it could cost them almost $200.

Until this year, IU Parking Operations provided general handicap permits for a $5 fee. But now, anyone who wants to park in a handicapped space at IU must purchase an A, B, C, D or E IU handicap permit for the full price of a regular parking sticker. An A-handicap permit, the most expensive, costs $193.85 for a full year. The specific permit assigned is based on the severity of the disability.
