WA: Drilling rig heading to assist in oil spill

PERTH, Aug 25 AAP - An offshore drilling rig being sent to help plug an oil leak off
Western Australia's Kimberley coast is currently moored in the port of Batam in Indonesia,
PTTEP Australasia (PTTEP) says.

The Thai-based company said in a statement on Tuesday the West Triton was expected
to take about 17 days to be towed near the scene of an oil spill in the Timor Sea.

PTTEP said it continued to consider other potential plans to stop the oil spill, including
the use of other rigs in the area.

Earlier on Tuesday, major oil and gas producer Woodside Petroleum Ltd offered the use ...
