AVIC Starts Building Head Samples for Jumbo Jets

SHANGHAI, Sep 02, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Important progress has recently been made on the research and development of jumbo jets. On September 1, 2009, a Chengdu-based civil aircraft subsidiary of China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC) began producing components for the head samples of the C919.

The C919 will be a kind of jumbo jets to be made by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (CACC, or China Commercial Aircraft) under the wing of AVIC.
