Hanwang Taking Leading Share of Local Market

BEIJING, Sep 07, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Hanwang Technology Co. Ltd., an e-book reading device maker in China, is taking the leading share of the local market.

However, it is facing increasing competition from heavyweight IT players such as Lenovo, Founder, China Mobile and Datang Telecom, which are cutting into the e-book market by taking a page out of Amazon, the company behind the woefully successful Kindle2.

Liu Yingjian, chairman at Hanwang Technology, says that China's e-book industry is still fledging and will not come into its own until 2011.
