10G EPON Standard Approved

BEIJING, Sep 14, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The 10G Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) standard was approved.

More than 40 companies, which participated in the establishment of the standard or backed up the standard, all celebrated the approval. The companies included Alloptic, Anritsu Company, ARRIS, B-DeltaCom, Bright House Networks, Cambridge Industries Group, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom Beijing Branch, Corecess, Cortina Systems, CyOptics, Dasan Networks, Dongwon, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and so on. 10G EPON equipment will start to be deployed in 2010, according to a forecast.
