BYD to Make Battery Electric Coaches in Changsha

CHANGSHA, Sep 15, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Chinese automaker BYD Auto Co., Ltd. is predicted to start the formal production of battery electric coaches in its Changsha base at the end of 2009.

An insider from the automaker disclosed that some persons were recently sent to its factory in Changsha, capital of the central province of Hunan, and most of them were responsible for the production.

In July, BYD Auto purchased the Sanxiang Bus project, which ceased operation for about one year in Changsha, from consumer electronics manufacturer Guangdong Midea Group Co., Ltd. for CNY 60 million.
