Guangzhou Port to Start Serving 100,000-tonnage Ships

GUANGZHOU, Sep 18, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The No. 1 section of the third-phase outbound seaway of the Port of Guangzhou is scheduled to break earth soon, with a total investment of CNY 690 million, according to the builder, CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd.

Upon the construction plan, the project will be completed before December 31, 2011. At that time, the seaway, which is 15.5 meters deep now, will see its depth enlarge to 17 meters after dredging. 100,000-tonnage ships will be able to get into and out of the port freely day and night, and 150,000-tonnage vessels can do so when ...
