Statement of Scott G. Alvarez General Counsel Board of Governors of the
Federal Reserve System Committee on House Financial Services September
25, 2009 Chairman Frank, Ranking Member Bachus, and other members of the
Committee, I appreciate the opportunity to testify on H.R. 1207, the Federal
Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. The Federal Reserve is accountable to
the Congress and the public. To inform the Congress and the American people
about our actions and accommodate appropriate oversight of those actions,
the Federal Reserve has further strengthened its ongoing commitment to
