Hotelier Robert I. Small recalls walking into the Saddle Brook Marriott Hotel 36 years ago, his first day as the new general manager, and being greeted by a part-time teenage doorman, Alan Fuerstman, who was a senior at New Milford High School.
"Here was this young, bright-eyed kid who didn't know who I was but was just as helpful, warm and embracing as he could be," Small said.
