Fed: Liberal colleagues rally around Dutton

CANBERRA, Oct 4 AAP - Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull will again have his authority
tested after demanding his Queensland colleagues do whatever it takes to ensure Peter
Dutton is not lost from politics.

Mr Dutton, a former Howard government minister and touted as a future leader of the
Liberal Party, failed at the weekend in his preselection bid for the Gold Coast seat of
McPherson.

The Queensland Liberal National Party (LNP) described the victory on Saturday by mechanical
engineer Karen Andrews as "a win for democracy", but Mr Turnbull said he was "very, very
troubled" by the result.
