Irving Penn created dramatic, black-and-white photographs of some of the most famous artists of the 20th century: Georgia O'Keeffe, Igor Stravinsky, Marcel Duchamp. The images became iconic, instantly recognizable for their style. Penn's sense of style also helped him become a noted fashion photographer, primarily for Vogue magazine. The photographer died today at his home in Manhattan. He was 92 years old.
