BELGRADE, Feb. 2 (IPS) -- Everyone in Serbia knows about the
existence of an International War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague, but
few want to talk about it.
In fact, since the Tribunal was established in May 1993 to
discover who committed atrocities during the years of conflict in
former Yugoslavia, Serbian authorities have pretended the body does
not even exist and have refused to cooperate with its efforts.
That posture may be changing. Under the Dayton Peace Agreement
for Bosnia-Herzegovina reached two months ago, all parties are
committed to cooperate "in the investigation and prosecution of war
crimes and other violations ...
