WA: Inquiry finds private ambulance service flawed

PERTH, Nov 9 AAP - Western Australia's ambulance service will receive a funding boost
after a report found more staff were needed to alleviate safety issues.

An independent inquiry was launched this year into WA's private ambulance company St
John after whistleblowers told the media the service was fatally flawed.

In the ABC's Four Corners program, aired in July, anonymous St John staff alleged four
deaths could have been avoided if not for communication problems at the call centre.

WA Health Minister Kim Hames announced on Monday the government would immediately inject
