Airlines Branching out into Sichuan

CHENGDU, Nov 13, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Eastern Airlines (SEHK: 0670; SHSE: 600115) and Shenzhen Airlines are seeking to branch out into the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan by setting up a subsidiary. Now they are waiting for the final regulatory approval.

As the biggest private airlines in China, Shenzhen Airlines last year registered the Sichuan branch and started building its air base in Chengdu, Sichuan's capital city. This year, the airways clinched an agreement with the Chengdu government to jointly set up an air hub.
