China to Link Jet Fuel Surcharge to Jet Fuel Prices

BEIJING, Nov 13, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The Chinese government recently decided to link the jet fuel surcharge in the civil aviation industry to the comprehensive purchasing cost of jet kerosene for the first time.

On November 12, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced that from November 14, the current unified standard for jet fuel surcharge would be canceled and that airlines can decide by themselves whether, how, and when to levy jet fuel surcharge according to the linking system.
