NEGAGE, Angola, Feb. 9 (IPS) -- As the U.N. Security Council met
in New York to review the United Nations' operation in Angola,
Indian peacekeeping troops in this northeastern district were
talking excitedly about another 600 UNITA soldiers due to come in
that day, taking the camp's total to more than 2,600.
There were animated discussions with National Movement for the
Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) officers about where the
troops could be picked up, now that the United Nations has an
unofficial commitment to provide transport for incoming soldiers.
