Good evening, this is United Press International's evening report for
Tuesday, September 8, 1998.
(PHILADELPHIA) _ Once again the chainsaws are out in the Philadelphia
suburbs. A violent storm passed across the area on Labor Day
afternoon.. . ushering in a cold front that has dropped the temperature
by almost 20 degrees. The storm cut power to thousands of homes and
businesses and interrupted holiday festivities. But it did its worst
damage in northern New Jersey and in New York State.
