Nasal spray against fractures

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 14 (UPI) _ If a group of researchers is correct, a
little nasal spray will keep many bone breaks away.

The scientists say their studies indicate a new nasal spray can prevent
spinal fractures in women with thin bones. Spinal fractures are a major
complication of osteoporosis, accounting for nearly half of all breaks
associated with the disease suffered by 200 million women worldwide.

The five-year study indicates Miacalcin (calcitonin-salmon) Nasal Spray
may offer a whiff of hope to the 28 million Americans and 170 million
others with osteoporosis, according to the investigators.
