Good evening, this is United Press International's evening report for
Monday, September 21, 1998.
(MEDIA) _ Lawyers gave opening statements today in the trial of Arthur
Bomar, the Nevada parolee charged with killing college lacrosse star
Aimee Willard.Prosecutors say they have D-N-A evidence linking Bomar to
the crime, as well as three confessions. Willard was abducted after she
left a suburban Philadelphia bar and raped. Her body was discovered in
a vacant lot in North Philadelphia.
The trial is being held in Delaware County with a jury selected in
Westmoreland County outside Pittsburgh.
