Baldness linked to heart disease

DALLAS, Nov. 9 (UPI) _ Severe male pattern baldness may be the latest
risk factor, or at least an indicator, for heart disease.

Researchers at the annual meeting of the American Heart Association in
Dallas investigated the baldness patterns of more than 19,000
physicians enrolled in one study and said today they found a 36-percent
increased risk of heart disease for those with the most severe forms of
male pattern baldness.

Once other factors such as smoking and cholesterol levels were
considered, the risk of heart disease increased as hair on the head
