Death row inmate wants another DNA test
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Nov. 15 (UPI) _ Death row inmate Willie Enoch was
able to postpone a scheduled execution date last year by convincing a
Peoria-area judge that a DNA test would prove he did not commit murder.
But that DNA test came back showing that Enoch, 44, likely was the one
who stabbed Armanda Kay Burns in her apartment in 1984.
Now Enoch faces the likelihood of dying Wednesday night by lethal
injection at the Tamms Correctional Center in far Southern Illinois,
unless his attorneys can succeed in challenging the validity of that
test.
Enoch still claims he didn't kill Burns. His attorneys allege Burns'
