SODOM LAKE, Dead Sea, the Saline Lake, are all different names for
the sameplace. Several communities and civilizations have originated there,
and have beenwashed away, in the area known today as the Dead Sea.

Situated 55 kilometers west of Amman, the Dead Sea is the lowest point
on earth, 400meters below sea level. Coming down from the mountains of
Amman, you will noticethe change in the atmospheric pressure. As you approach
the Dead Sea anoverpowering feeling overwhelms you. Under the blazing sun,
the beach conjures up amarvelous view. It is a seducing scene. The viewer
is surrounded by the white saltyrocks of the Dead Sea waters.
