Poll: Bouchard leading in Quebec race
QUEBEC, Nov. 25 (UPI) _ An opinion poll conducted for the National Post
newspaper shows separatist Premier Lucien Bouchard in a strong lead
against Liberal leader Jean Charest, just five days before the Nov. 30
provincial election.
The survey published today was conducted by COMPAS Inc. during the
weekend and into Monday.
It puts the popularity of Bouchard's ruling Parti Quebecois at 45
percent, against 44 percent for the Liberals. The smaller Action
Democratique, led by 28-year-old Mario Dumont, was at 11 percent.
Because Charest's support is concentrated among Anglophones and
fedralists in a few Montreal-area ...
