(Independent Florida Alligator) (U-WIRE) GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Skid marks across the Criser Hall parking lot and plywood covering a hole on the building's first floor are the only remnants of an early-morning chase and car crash Monday.
At about 2:53 a.m., University police received a call from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office that a vehicle was rapidly approaching campus from Southwest Second Avenue.
When ASO deputies tried to stop the 1990 Buick Riviera for driving on the wrong side of East University Avenue, the car sped away before the officer could identify the subjects, ASO spokesman Sgt. James Troiano said.
