(Daily Trojan) (U-WIRE) LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The question surrounding the No. 25 USC women's soccer team was how long its season would last.

But that question was settled on Sunday as the Women of Troy couldn't muster enough for a win and lost to San Diego State, 1-0, in three overtimes during the second round of the NCAA Tournament in San Diego.

San Diego State's Lori LaCoursiere kicked the game-winning goal for the Aztecs on a penalty kick in the 124th minute.

LaCoursiere's penalty kick came after San Diego State's Catherine McGuire was knocked down in the box by USC.
