Recchi's consecutive games streak ends
NASHVILLE, Dec. 12 (UPI) _ The iron man streak of Montreal Canadiens
right wing Mark Recchi ended at 569 games Saturday night when he gave
in to a persisent case of pneumonia and sat out a contest against the
Nashville Predators. ended the NHL's longest current consecutive games
streak. He had been the league's iron man since Dec. 7, 1996, when
Trevor Linden's streak ended at 482 games due to a knee sprain.
