BUSINESS
A New Jersey company plans to eventually employ upward of 350 people at a
new plant in Waterville, where workers will assemble the pieces for erecting
tiny modular houses overseas.
International Emergency Housing Inc., which will move its operations to
Maine, has received final approval from Waterville to start manufacturing the
housing components at a former woolen mill on West River Road.
A subsidiary, ALJO International Home Builders, is still seeking permission
to build an 85-unit affordable-housing project in Waterville.
The company has hired about 40 people and expects to increase its work
