It was mainly dry in the Northeast this morning while snow showers dotted parts of the Plains. Scattered thunderstorms threatened to hit the Southeast later while flurries were expected in the Rockies.

Cloudy skies were expected later today in New York and New England, and light snow showers or flurries were possible. Mostly cloudy skies were forecast over the central Great Lakes to the Ohio Valley as well, and some lake effect snow could occur on the western side of the Lakes.
