WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) _ Quarterback Daniel Jeremiah's 1-yard run in overtime gave Division I-AA Appalachian State a 30-27 victory over Wake Forest on Saturday night.
Wake Forest (2-2) had the ball first in overtime and moved to the 11-yard line when quarterback Brian Kuklick found Jammie Deese for 14 yards on first down. But two running plays netted only four yards and Kuklick overthrew Marvin Chalmers on third down, forcing the Demon Deacons to settle for Matthew Burdick's 23-yard field goal.
