SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (AP) _ Motorola Inc. announced Tuesday that it will end its title sponsorship of the Western Open after next year's golf tournament.

The Chicago-area based electronics and communications giant, which does business in more than 120 countries, said it wants ``to pursue more globally oriented sports and entertainment sponsorships.''

Motorola assumed title sponsorship of the Western Open in 1994. The tournament has attracted record crowds in four of the last five years.
