WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Clinton talked with President Boris Yeltsin about Russia's troubled economy on Saturday and won fresh assurances that Moscow remains committed to reform as it struggles for stability, the White House said.
The 30-minute conversation came a day after Yevgeny Primakov, the 68-year-old former foreign minister and spymaster, won overwhelming approval from the parliament to become prime minister. Primakov pledged continued economic reform with more state control.
In his conversation with Clinton, Yeltsin ``reiterated they remain committed to economic reform and will stay the course,'' National Security Council spokesman P.J. Crowley said. ...
