Article: U.S. Supreme Court looks at justice European-style

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) _ As the world gets smaller, the U.S. Supreme Court will be drawing on judgments from other countries in its own deliberations, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor said Wednesday.

O'Connor is heading a team of American justices who will be talking with European judges and court officials during a 10-day, four-country visit.

The justices have discovered that the issues facing European courts are often the same ones U.S. judges face, said Justice Stephen Breyer, a member of the four-judge Supreme Court delegation.
