CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) _ The Charleston Daily Mail, West Virginia's second-largest newspaper, is being sold by Thomson Newspapers Inc. to MediaNews Group Inc.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed Thursday.
Denver-based MediaNews will add the Daily Mail to its Garden State Newspapers subsidiary. It will rank among MediaNews' top 10 daily newspapers, said president and chief executive William Dean Singleton.
Stuart Garner, president and CEO of Toronto-based Thomson Newspapers, said the Daily Mail no longer fits its strategy ``of forming marketing groups offering an array of products and services.''
