CLEVELAND (AP) _ The Cleveland Indians have fired Lee MacPhail as scouting director and offered him another position, general manager John Hart said Friday.
``We have relieved Lee of his duties,'' Hart said.
MacPhail, 28, the fourth generation in a tradition-rich baseball family, has not notified the club if he will accept the reassignment.
Assistant scouting director Josh Byrnes will be MacPhail's interim replacement and probably will get the job permanently, Hart said.
MacPhail is the nephew of Chicago Cubs president ...
