TORONTO (AP) _ Shawn Green knew that Mike Stanton would throw him a fastball. The Toronto outfielder made the most of it.
Green hit two homers, including a seventh-inning grand slam, and Roger Clemens pitched seven strong innings as the Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 9-6 on Friday night.
With two outs, the bases loaded and the Blue Jays up 2-1, Green narrowly missed a grand slam on a 3-2 pitch when his long fly ball to right field went foul. On the next pitch, he hit a shot over the center-field wall for his 19th homer and first career grand slam.
