DENVER (AP) _ Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter said late Wednesday that he will take the JonBenet Ramsey case to a grand jury to help develop evidence in the unsolved slaying.
Hunter's announcement came just after Gov. Roy Romer said he will not appoint a special prosecutor because it would further hold up the nearly 20-month-old inquiry. There have been allegations that the investigation has been bungled by Hunter's office.
``Because of secrecy requirements mandated by law, I cannot comment on the starting date of the grand jury or the location where the grand jurors will do their work,'' Hunter said in a statement ...
