NEW YORK (AP) _ It's been feast or famine for Goran Ivanisevic in the U.S. Open.
``In the last five years, I've made one semifinal and four first rounds,'' Ivanisevic said Monday after defeating Australia's Mark Woodforde 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in the tournament's opening match. ``Today was perfect.''
Actually, Ivanisevic has suffered three first-round losses in the last four years, reaching the semifinal of the year's final Grand Slam tournament in 1996. The left-hander from Croatia lost in the opening round in 1994, '95 and '97. In 1993, Ivanisevic reached the second round.
