Hairiest man goes bare at UCLA

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19 (UPI) _ UCLA doctors used a new laser treatment to
remove the thick body hair of a 31-year-old Illinois man who was named
America's hairiest man in a radio contest.

The procedure at UCLA's Institute for Laser Surgery lasted more than
four hours today, and used a small laser beam to vaporize dime-sized
areas of hair and the follicles below the skin.

Dr. Edward Tobinick said the patient, Keith Young, was hairier than any
of the other 5,000 people he'd treated with the new laser, but he
expects little of the hair to grow back.
