HOUSTON, July 30 (UPI) _ Livan Hernandez pitched a four-hitter and was
supported by an early three-run homer from Cliff Floyd Thursday as the
Florida Marlins finally managed a win over the Houston Astros, 4-3.
Hernandez (9-7) threw 129 pitches and went the distance for the sixth
time this season, tying the club record set last season by Kevin Brown.
Two of the hits were solo homers by Tony Eusebio and Carl Everett.
Hernandez walked three and struck out seven.
Houston put two runners on base in the ninth before Hernandez struck
out Ricky Gutierrez to end the game and conclude ...
